NEW DELHI: Delhiites may have to pay at least 30 times more as fees when applying for sanction of a building plan. The MCD plans to charge Rs 10 per sq metre now, instead of the usual lumpsum fee charged per floor.
The MCD has proposed an amendment in the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, 1957, in the Delhi Legislative Assembly. The budget session started on Tuesday.
Take a look at what you were paying all along. For a 100 square-yard plot, you had to pay a lumpsum fee of Rs 20 for the first storey, Rs 20 for the second storey and beyond. This is applicable to the basement as well.
